In 2014, we opened York City Pretzel Company in Downtown York, PA—the Snack Food Capital of the World. With a humble setup, a third-hand oven, and a lot of heart, we started baking pretzels that people couldn’t stop talking about.
Before long, we were supplying wholesale pretzels to regional restaurants and serving up fresh-baked goodness in our cozy Market Street café. But like so many small businesses, the pandemic forced us to rethink everything.
In 2020, faced with the challenge of keeping our doors open, we took a leap of faith. We launched The Pretzel Company, shifting our focus to online sales and shipping our pretzels nationwide. What started as a scrappy effort with a few Facebook ads turned into something much bigger. Today, we’ve shipped hundreds of thousands of pretzels to all 50 states, earning rave reviews from pretzel enthusiasts everywhere.
